Getting Ready For Summer With The Donation Box for 5-17
Summer break is coming soon and many of the kids that get their meals from free or reduced school lunch programs will be at home. We decided to concentrate on some snack bars in the donation box for 5-17 since most kids like those. Our youngest son loves all these bars so we figure other kids might too. We did throw in some candy as well. I think I’ll follow this box with a box full of toothpaste in next weeks box! (hehe) Kidding aside, before we get bombarded with questions about why we would donate candy, I’ll say that yes, we do feel that it is appropriate. We give quite a bit of food and personal items, but we figure that the candy is a nice treat for any kid (or adult) in any family. It’s always up to the parent to moderate their childrens candy intake, no matter what their income is. So… when we get candy in our couponing trips, we like to share some of that in our donation box. We’d love to hear your opinion on donating candy to the foodbank now and then. What’s your take on it?
Here’s what was in The Donation Box for 5-17 2014
6 Good to Go Bars multipack boxes

|If you’re new and/or not familiar with what The Donation Box is, this is a box we keep in a corner of our house that we add items to all week for a Saturday morning delivery to the local Co-op Ministries . Since we’ve been couponing, we have grown a nice stockpile of items so now we try to put some aside and do our small part to help others. (You can view our other delivery posts here ). Other than a little extra time, there is no reason for us to pass up a free or ridiculously cheap deal… we know someone needs those items! Our boxes usually include a combination of things we purchased the current week and items from our stockpile that we have overstocked. We hope we inspire others to do the same! Whether it’s a donation of money, time, or items.. it all matters to someone!|
