The Donation Box packs a punch…
.. Hawaiian Punch that is! We were able to get quite a few gallons for free at Publix in the last couple weeks with the coupons available so it was a no brainer for us to pick some up for the donation box this week. Short of filling a pool and swimming in it, I’m not sure what we would do with all of it! Since school is getting out soon, this will come in handy for the families with kids at home for the summer.
I didn’t put out a bag for the postman today for the Stamp Out Hunger food drive since we delivered our box to our regularly scheduled destination (although I’m pretty sure our mail carrier would have stomped on our mail had we put out the gallon jugs for him to pick up). If your postal person has not come by today, you still have time to throw a few non perishables in a bag and place by your mailbox. This is a very easy way for everyone to participate in donating if you don’t have a regular drop off place.
One last thing… if you aren’t familiar with the old poem “Somebody’s Mother”, I want to direct you to the post I did earlier to share that inspiration. What better place to suggest that great read but on a donation post! If you have time, it’s worth reading.. again and again!
Here’s what was in The Donation Box for this week..
8 Hawaiian Punch Gallons
8 Folgers Instant coffee 7ct
2 Rock Deodorant Spray
2 Charco Caps Anti Gas Med
2 Breath Right Strips
2 Duncan Hines Frosting Flavors
2 Virmax Male Enhancement Supplement
|If you’re new and/or not familiar with what our Donation box is, this is a box we keep in a corner of our house that we add items to all week for a Saturday morning delivery to the local Co-op Ministries . Since we’ve been couponing, we’ve grown a nice stockpile of items so now we try to put some aside and do our small part to help others. (You can view our other delivery posts here ). Other than a little extra time, there is no reason for us to pass up a free or ridiculously cheap deal… we know someone needs them! Our boxes usually include a combination of things we purchased the current week and those items we realize we have too much of!|
