Santa Teresa ~ Sunsets and Surfing in Costa Rica
Another wonderful day of our vacation of sunsets and surfing in Costa Rica came to an end. Day 13 of our stay in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica was another day in paradise. Dylan had another surfing lesson from John. The waves were a little bigger during his surf lesson than they have been.
By the time Tommy got his board and hopped in the waves, they were small again. It looks like the biggest waves he’s going to get are 2-4 feet. This is the smallest we’ve seen in Santa Teresa in the three years we’ve been coming. Of course, the small waves are better than nothing. Tommy still made due.
The older boys have done more surfing the net and facebooking than anything. If you’re planning a trip, I suggest leaving the computers and phones behind. We should have made that a rule. It’s baffling to me how we can be in the most beautiful place where they have the freedom to roam down the street or to the nearby beach bar or even explore the tide pools but the nineteen year olds choose to be inside on something electronic. They did join us for sunset and played some football on the beach while we watched another gorgeous sunset in Costa Rica.
We lingered on the beach a little after sunset and then drove down the road to Chicken Joe’s to pick up some dinner. If you’re a chicken fan, you’ve got to try the food from this little shack on the dusty road. The roasted chicken is delicious and so are the sides, right down to the potato salad, rice, and beans. We used our Pollo Pass and received 2 free orders of Yucca Fries (also delicious). We’re definitely Chicken Joe fans and we think you’ll be too if you get the chance to visit Santa Teresa, Costa Rica!
We fell fast asleep after our day in the sun and our big chicken meal… happy and satisfied!
