Great News! You Can Now Use Savingstar at Publix Stores!
I am thrilled to say that you can now redeem offers from Savingstar at Publix! Up until now, Publix only worked with the Upromise Program. Many of the offers are the same between the two, but Savingstar is faster at registering the redemption and adding the money to your account. Savingstar also has aFreebie occasionally that Upromise does not have.
Upromise card no longer used at Publix
Savingstar is actually a cash back program that initially utilized the Upromise card when it started working with Publix in early 2015. As of Jan. 2016 it discontinued that process and became a receipt scan store. You no longer scan the Upromise Card that you got from the customer service counter. Now that it has changed to a receipt scan store for Savingstar, just load your offers to your account as you normally would, purchase the items at Publix (no card to scan), and then upload a picture of your receipt showing those items. You can do this through their website or with the Android or Iphone app.
Create a Savingstar account if you don’t already have one. Once you have an account, just click on “my account” at the top and go to the “stores” tab.
Then click the orange button that says “add more stores”
Select Publix and any other stores in your zip code that participate. Once you add the stores you will see two lists of stores on your stores tab: The first section is a list of stores that you need to type in your card number in order for it to register when you scan your card at checkout: The second list is the receipt scan stores that have no card info to tie to them which will need to be submitted after your purchase). Once you are set up, then click the grocery offers button at the top and scroll through to activate the offers you want! Easy as that! (I usually activate all my offers as I see new ones show up so I don’t forget any.) You will usually see your savings hit your account within a few days but some may take up to 3 weeks. You can cash out once you save $5
You can browse the grocery offers and add the offers to your account. New ones show up periodically and they all have expiration/end dates. If you have selected an offer and you do not use it before that end date it will simply disappear. I highly suggest taking a look at the offers at least once per week. I generally select all the offers just to make sure that I’m covered if I buy the item!
