Day 7 of our holiday in Santa Teresa Costa Rica ~ Christmas Eve
We started out our Christmas Eve day with our morning coffee on the beach, watching the sunrise and the waves. What an amazing way to wake up each day. Even Tommy likes to wake up early while we’re on holiday in Santa Teresa Costa Rica! Once we finished our coffee it was time to hit the waves! Dylan had his daily surfing lesson with John from Mongrel Surf and is doing fantastic moving up to bigger waves. The waves are pretty small right now in Santa Teresa, which is perfect for him to work on his paddling and turning.
Tommy is a little disappointed with the small waves. He’s looking forward to them getting bigger but for now, he’s still managing to get a couple now and then.
After surfing and relaxing a bit we took a little walk along the water and found a nice spot for our family Christmas picture. The tide was coming in so we didn’t have long in our studio on the beach, but I think it turned out pretty cute this year.
We snacked on some pineapple and some fresh guacamole that Tommy whipped up for lunch. We had to do without cilantro since it’s difficult to find here, but it was still delicious. We didn’t want to eat a big lunch so we’d have plenty of room for our Christmas Eve meal after watching another gorgeous sunset. It looks like Santa was enjoying the sunset on the beach of Santa Teresa as well!
After sunset we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the Rocomar Beach Lounge. They served us three courses while we sat in the breeze with our toes in the sand. The soothing background music of waves crashing was relaxing.
We waddled our full selves back to the Villas Santa Teresa and enjoyed some small gifts in front of our perfect little driftwood Christmas Tree decorated with flowers, flip flops, and suntan lotion bottles before we called it a night.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight!
