Easy Cream Puffs Recipe ~ Inexpensive and Delicious!

Easy Cream Puffs RecipeInexpensive and Easy Cream Puffs Recipe!

My grandmother used to make these light and airy Cream Puffs  whenever she came for a visit. I love these cream puffs and would beg her to make them. As a surprise for me during one of her summer visits she taught me how to make my own using this easy cream puffs recipe. Little did she know she was creating a tradition and memory that would last throughout my lifetime and be passed on to my children. She also taught me a way to serve my husband and children a simplistically elegant dessert that has always been within our budget. The next visit she taught me to make a very easy and tasty chocolate cake, but we’ll save that for another post.

I have made this easy cream puffs recipe so many times over the years it is committed to memory. My children and husband love them as much as I do. Now when I visit my daughters they ask me to make the cream puffs even though they each have the easy cream puffs recipe so they can make their own. For some reason they seem to think they taste better when I make them. I think everything tastes better when someone else makes it. I made a plate of cream puffs yesterday to get a few pictures for this recipe. I sent a few to a friend next door and the rest of them seem to have evaporated into thin air. They just vanished.

This Easy Cream Puffs recipe is inexpensive to make.  No one will ever guess you were able to create this wonderful dessert for less than $3.50 a dozen using common ingredients most of us keep in our pantry and refrigerator. It can be served right off the plate for a casual treat. You can also dress it up with a  little fruit for a more formal setting. I like mine with a couple mango or peach slices and halved strawberries.

As with all recipes, variations can be made to suit our personal taste. As an alternative, you could fill it with stiffly made whipped cream and drizzled with melted chocolate. You might find that you prefer to replace the vanilla extract with brandy, rum, almond or another extract that you find appealing in order to obtain different flavors.
