Saved big in our Publix Couponing Trip on 9-18
We made a quick little shopping list so we could do a Publix couponing trip on 9-18 to make sure we took advantage of the gas card deal that runs through Sunday 9/21/14. (We were afraid the weekend would get so busy we might not make it any other day!) We took advantage of some of the new deals in this weeks ad plus some nice regular price deals and some from the Green Grocery Advantage Buy flyer. I added the smoked sausage at the last minute. I had a craving for some Smoked Sausage Potato Chowder much like Tommy’s craving for these family sized cookies we had to put on the list! So overall, counting the $50 gas card we bought, the cost was $40.14, but we have to buy gas anyway so we don’t include it in our grocery budget. Basically, doing the gas card deal is just getting a free $10 to reduce our groceries.
The final profit of $9.86 for this Publix couponing trip on 9-18 is after the Upromise rebates, the Progresso try me free rebate, and the $10 credit for the gas card.We would have loved to buy more rice, creamer and body wash, but there were coupon limits unfortunately. We may swing by there again when we’re out and get another rice and 4 more body wash for the donation box. We haven’t been shopping as much lately because of some big household projects so our donation box has seemed a little slim lately.
For those of you who have read the projected Publix coupon policy changes, we’d love to hear what you think. Will this affect how you shop?
