There’s always something fun to do at the Zoo. Visit the 1,500 animals and learn about some of them from the animal keeper talks, training demonstrations, animal encounters (including a petting zoo) and great wildlife shows. Zoo Atlanta is also home to giant pandas and the nation’s largest collections of orangutans and gorillas! You may also get a chance to see the Black Rhino, African Elephant, Komodo Dragon and Sumatran Tigers!
Georgia residents can check out the Zoo Atlanta Family Pass at the local library and get free admission for a family of 4 (two adults and 2 children). That’s a $78 value.. for FREE !
There is also an Atlanta City Pass that can be purchased for a huge discount on a package of 5 Atlanta attractions which can include Zoo Atlanta as one of your choices. If you want to make the rounds to the popular Atlanta attractions then this may be your best bet! The pass can be purchased for $74 per adult or $54 per child (3-12yrs) and includes admission to:

FREE Movies and Entertainment in Central Park ~ Atlantic Station
Central Park at Atlantic Station is a great place to enjoy some unplugged family time with a picnic lunch any day of the week but it also has a schedule of free activities all summer (weather permitting). Depending on what you’re in the mood for, you can get everything from Improv Comedy and Movies to a day of kiddy activities for the little ones!
Tot Spot – Tuesdays (April 2 – September 24) – A fun day for pre-school aged children (while parents relax) full of activities such as face painters, crafts, and story tellers. The activities may vary each Tuesday but there’s guaranteed to be pre-school fun while you relax in the park! (weather permitting)
Improv in the Park – First Wednesday of the month from 7:30 PM – 8:30PM – Just take a blanket and snack and have some laughs with the folks from Whole World Improv Theatre. Admission is free, no joke!
Movies in the Park – Thursday nights at dusk (May 2 – Aug 15) – Grab a blanket or chair and your favorite picnic snack from a nearby grocery or one of the restaurants in Atlantic Station and find a spot to enjoy a free movie. Each month has a new theme and move line up:

Brown Bag Fridays – Each Friday from May 3rd through September 27th, 11AM – 2PM, restaurants in Atlantic Station offer lunch specials at discounted prices for your “to go” order. Grab your special meal and enjoy lunch in Central Park where there is live entertainment, activities and chances to win prizes.
Friday Night Live – Last Friday of each month (May 31 – Sept 27) from 7 PM – 9:30 PM – Kick back on your blanket or get up and dance (why not?) while enjoying some live music from some of Atlanta’s local bands from 7 Pm – 9:30 PM.

A couple great websites to check for amazing discounts are Livingsocial and Groupon. You can check Livingsocial deals or Groupon deals for local Atlanta activities. These companies often have super discounted specials (at least half price or better) on various activities. The activities that these sites offer are discounted for a limited time and are constantly changing so it’s a great way to keep a lookout for deals on activity ideas.
